Before a trailer move.
What a hauler needs from you to give a real price and move your trailer without a problem.
Trailer details
Length including the tongue, width and height. The weight rating, called GVWR, is on the plate or sticker near the front of the trailer. Also note the number of axles and roughly how much is loaded inside.
Hitch
Bumper-pull with the ball size, gooseneck or pintle, and the electrical plug type. If it has electric brakes, say so.
Road readiness
Tires with good tread and pressure, working lights, a sound coupler and safety chains, a current plate, and brakes that work. Anything loose inside should be secured before pickup.
Access
The address at both ends, gate hours, who holds the keys or lock codes, and a phone number for someone on site. Mention tight turns, low branches, soft ground or narrow streets.
Paperwork
If a studio, venue or property needs a certificate of insurance, give the hauler the exact holder name and wording early. Add any PO number or production name so it reaches the invoice.
